Cleaning Clothes

Today I'm thankful for a washing machine.

Fun fact about me: I've never lived anywhere that didn't have a washer and dryer, except that one summer my family was homeless (which is less dramatic than it sounds).

I finally did wash today, after I pretty much ran out of jeans.  And that's saying something.

The problem with the rainy season is that pants get dirtier a lot faster.  I don't tend to wash jeans every time I wear them, but this time of year I have to.

So I'm thankful to be able to stick my clothes and a little soap in the washer, press a button, and come back to clean clothes.

It's pretty much wonderful.

  1. I'm a totaly baby about the whole washer/dryer thing. There was a year in the dorms and one year where they were in the building, but not in my unit. I hated it. HATED it. Having to drag my laundry up and down stairs and use public machines... ugh.

Like I said, I'm generally pretty laid back about things, but this was miserable!

  2. I am pretty obsessed with my washer and dryer. I do laundry at least three times a week, even though its completely unnecessary. I find it relaxing to be able to clean something without much effort.

  3. Pretty much my only requirement for our next place is that it has a washer and dryer. We have them in our complex, but they cost $1.25 per wash and $1.00 per dry. Plus the hauling of the clothes back and forth and having other people touch my laundry if they're impatient and need to use the dryer. Ugh.
